Zanaflex - Durante Noche Zanaflex
Zanaflex (sometimes referred to as Durante Noche Zanaflex or the generic Tizanidine) is an effective muscle relaxant. This drug works by effectively stopping painful nerve impulses from reaching your brain. If your brain doesn't recognize the pain the muscles can relax. When muscles relax you gain relief.
The typical prescription for Zanaflex is about 4 mg tablets and prescribed doses can be taken up to three times daily up to a total of 36 mg. Doctors can advise as to the use of the product in relation to food intake. The capsule form of the drug responds differently than the tablet form so food precautions will vary depending on pill type.
The Zanaflex 4 mg tablet is white and round while the Zanaflex capsule is elongated and light blue in color. The capsule will also feature a white stripe.
Zanaflex side effects include hives and facial swelling, which will generally require medical intervention. Some users have also experienced hallucinogenic effects while using Zanaflex along with painful or burning episodes during urination.
Less bothersome side effects include stomach pain, anxious feelings, dizziness, fever, muscle weakness, dry mouth, sweating and diarrhea. Other side effects may apply.
Be sure to check with your health care provider for drug interactions, as there are several drugs that can cause problems when taking Zanaflex. These may include stomach acid reduction pills, certain antibiotics and birth control pills as well as certain heart regulatory aids and high blood pressure meds.
Those who use Zanaflex over a long period of time may need to slowly reduce their use over a period of time, as withdrawal symptoms are common following long-term use.
