Didrex (Benzphetamine) - Didrex Side Effects

Minor Didrex side effects

- And skin rash.
Major Didrex side effects
- Feeling short of breath, even with mild exertion;

- Pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest;
- Confusion or irritability, unusual thoughts or behavior;
- Dangerously high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, confusion, chest pain, shortness of breath, uneven heartbeats, seizure)

Withdrawal Symptoms

- Severe high blood pressure;
- Overactive thyroid
- Glaucoma
- History of drug and alcohol abuse
- Diabetes
Before you start taking this drug, it is best that you see your doctor first. The doctor will either advise you not to take this pill if you any of the conditions mentioned above. But in some cases, the doctor will still allow you to take the pill but in lower dosage.
Warnings:Here are some important things to remember before taking Didrex: Pregnant women are not allowed to take Didrex. Taking this drug could harm the unborn baby or could likely cause birth defects.
If you are breastfeeding, do not take this drug. Some particles of the drug could be passed through the milk, which in turn will harm the nursed baby. Children under 12 years of age are not advised to take the pill. Also, people who are 65 years old and above are not allowed to take the pill. Taking Didrex is not proven safe and effective for people of this age.
Didrex Overdose: Manifestations and TreatmentsManifestations
If the overdosage is just mild, the common manifestations are: tachypnea, tremor, restlessness, confusion, and panic states. Sometimes, overdose could cause fatigue and depression. If the overdose is more than just acute, the patient would feel cardiovascular effects like hypertension, arrhythmias, and circulatory collapse. The patient would also have gastrointestinal manifestations like diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal cramps. When the overdose becomes more complicated, rhabdomyolysis and hyperpyrexia would likely occur, which when left untreated would further lead to fatal poisoning, or much worse, coma.
