It is also not advised to be used when nursing infants as the remnants of the drugs may be passed on to breast milk. In the event of over dose from ciprofloxacin, emptying the stomach by means of induced vomiting or gastric lavage may be required. This is because it may promote the risk of experiencing reversible renal toxicity.
