Cipro antibiotic medications come in various forms. It may be presented in the form of a tablet, eye drops, intravenous solutions and ear drops. The use of this drug in not advised among pregnant women. This can promote the risk of fetal abortions or birth defects among unborn children. It is also not advised to be used when nursing infants as the remnants of the drugs may be passed on to breast milk. In the event of over dose from ciprofloxacin, emptying the stomach by means of induced vomiting or gastric lavage may be required. This is because it may promote the risk of experiencing reversible renal toxicity. Hence the importance of making sure that a patient using this drug as a form of treatment should make sure that they follow the prescription properly.
